Hot Chocolate and History: “N.J. Trenham: Early Photographer of Alexandria”

Douglas County Historical Society will host January’s Hot Chocolate & History. Discover the life and work of N.J. Trenham, a prolific photographer who documented Douglas County and its surrounding area from the 1870s-1900s. Trenham’s photographs capture a unique moment in the region’s history, from its bustling town streets to its rural farms and communities.

Attend in person and you will be welcomed inside with a cup of hot chocolate! No online option is available.

Douglas County Historical Society – Brittany N Johnson

Born in Alexandria and educated at Brandon-Evansville High School, Brittany Johnson is a Douglas County native excited to share local history. After graduating from Carleton College with a BA in US History, Brittany returned to Alexandria and was blessed to take over as director at the Douglas County Historical Society. You can find her there most days fawning over vintage photographs and postcards or planning the next fun event.
